Moreover, the roles and responsibilities of such committee are overseen by the Board of Getswift itself, thereby creating a scenario wherein it is becoming overburdened in nature. In relation to this, it is recommended to the company that it must design a proper remuneration committee so that the policies associated to remuneration are focused upon in an effective way. The definition of the word Amalgamate is to combine or united which is what all the pieces will accomplish in one fashion or another. The room would have grey walls and a muted color floor with each piece having its own beautifully angled light to highlight the piece by itself. Every piece in the exhibit will merge items in one way or another or in one form or another and become part of the grotesque by the definition that Connelly as given as Images gathered under the grotesque rubric include those that combine unlike things in order to challenge established realities, or construct new ones; those that deform or decompose things; and those that are metamorphic (Connelly, 2003) Mermaid Hunt The first piece to be viewed would be a piece named Mermaid Hunt by Tom Lockwood. Upon first glance the piece has majestic and beautiful colors until one examines the piece further to then notice that the mermaids are hunting humans just as humans used to hunt them. At the bottom right hand of the piece it shows skulls on a pedestal with a mermaid dropping another on the top of it. The color palette uses bright blues with hints of gold and green on the main mermaid at the center of the art. There are two mermaids in the background staggered on either side of the main mermaid. The colors on each of these women in the background are more muted than and not as bright as other aspects of the painting. Upon close inspection you notice the numerous different types of sharks circling the mermaids as if they are helping in the hunt of main because just like the mermaids they have been hunted and they are both attempting to enact revenge on the humans. The piece is grotesques because it not only merges reality into the mystical but it also merges the body of a human with t he tail of a fish. A mermaid is a merging of two souls to become one. It combines two unlikely things and forms them into one (Connelly 2003). The artist deforms two beings combining them into an unrealistic form that cause the mind to question the possibilities of such a creature. Another aspect that causes it to be grotesque is the protrusion of death into the piece. The skulls and even the title of the art imply and show the death of humans by having the skulls in the forefront of the piece and not in the background as in other pieces and by naming the piece the Mermaid Hunt. Melody of Demise Melody of Demise by Linda Bergkvist is the second painting which is in the exhibit. At first sight the picture appears dark and centered around death. There are multiple points that make this artwork fall into the grotesque. The dress of the lady is decomposing as it appears to have tears and worn areas at the bottom. The harp has strings that have broken and no longer function as part of the instrument. The main focus of the piece is the misty form of a previous man. The man and woman appear to have been lovers separated by death but are merging in soul through the music. They are in a destroyed and dilapidated graveyard that shows the hands of souls reaching for the sky. Most of these aspects of the painting push the boundaries of reality and cross over into the unproven mystical side of death. The overall color palette of the piece is dark with many blended and misty looking lines such as in her hair and the ghost himself appears totally misty lacking any lines that would be crisp . Overall I find this painting to have a soft effect with no harsh visual aspects. Scars cannot tear you down you are the only one can, its either you live a lie or just accept the true you, which one would you choose? Walker also had problems with self-esteem in her life when her brother shot her in the eye with a BB-gun that left one of her eyes blind. According to walker her life was over â€Å"For six years I do not stare at anyone, because I do not raise my head†. I grew up a tomboy who played with nothing but boys and maybe one or two girls. I was always happy, and a just a big jokers until I started my middle school year and identified hair on my chin. I have suffered with this problem for the longest. I considered myself as different from most girls. When I got the hair on my chin I did not want to be bothered with anybody, I used to hold my head down and kind of slouch so no one wouldn’t see it. My whole attitude changed I went from the girl who used to love herself so very much into the girl who couldn’t stand to look in the mirror. But that should’ve have changed me nor Walker because you can’t look down on yourself just because you have a scar you are who you are no matter if it’s there or not. I tell it I hate and despise it. I do not pray for sight. I pray for vision. † She must have really seen herself as this person who so ugly until she got it removed but that didn’t change her she had to see herself from within. Many times I put myself in situation where I just look in the mirror and wish some things would go anyway but it doesn’t, you can put make up on, put hair on your head but it want change anything. Walker finally sees herself as this beautiful person. She keep questioning herself â€Å"You did not change they say. † But she finally realizing everything when she is by her daughter and she is talking to her daughter. Walker says â€Å"Since the birth of her daughter she has worried about her discovery that her mothers’ eyes are different from others people’s. Will she be embarrassed? I think. What will she say? Every day she watches a television program called Big Blue Marble. It begin with a picture of earth as it appears from moon. When walker was putting her baby to sleep her daughter Rebecca focus on her eye. She began wanted to protect herself but her daughter didn’t see her eye as such ugliness her daughter tells her there is a world in her eyes. From the perception of her daughter she began to accept herself. â€Å"Yes indeed , I realized, looking into the mirror. There was a world in my eyes. And I saw it was possible to love it. Have you ever thought about what makes mammal species different from other vertebrates? If not, Im sure that you have noticed the differences between a snake, which is a reptile, and an elephant. Being a mammal myself, I have always found this particular class of vertebrates very interesting. As you will see, mammals have certain characteristics that differentiate them from other vertebrates. Lets take a look at some of these characteristics. Mammal Characteristics To begin with, mammal species are in the Class Mammalia, within the Subphylum Vertebrata, under the Phylum Chordata, in the Kingdom Animalia. Now that you have that straight, lets look at some specific traits of mammals. One main characteristic that mammals have is a feature that usually stands on end in frightening situations. Can you guess what it is? Yes, its hair or fur, whichever the case may be. This trait is useful in maintaining the constant body temperature that is important to all endothermic animals. Another characteristic is the ability to produce milk. This comes in handy while nourishing babies which are usually born fully developed (exceptions are the monotremes and the marsupials). Fertilization occurs within the reproductive tract of the female and most have a placenta that provides nutrients to the developing embryo. Mammalian young are usually slow to leave the nest, which allows for a longer period of time for the parents to teach skills that are necessary for survival. Respiratory and circulatory features of mammals include a diaphragm for proper lung ventilation and a heart that has four chambers to ensure that blood is circulated appropriately. Mammals can comprehend and learn things, which can be attributed to a larger brain size as compared to vertebrates of similar size. Finally, the existence of teeth that are different in size and function is a trait that is seen among mammals. All of these characteristics (hair, maintaining a constant body temperature, production of milk, internal fertilization, young born fully developed, highly developed circulatory and respiratory systems, larger brain size, and differences in the size and function of teeth) make mammal species unique among the vertebrates.
